Okay, I have to warn you, the picture of myself in the magazine is a bit cacat (all my fault because I chose the picture) but who cares when you are grouped with Amani, Lisa Surihani and Azizul Hasni right? Right?

1000 Facebook LIKES and I'll Colour My Hair

I am known for my long jet black blob of a hair and for 23 years, I am content with the way I look. That was until an online friend told me that he saw me at the streets and he thinks that I should try something new with my hair. I didn't want to do anything drastic but then again, life is boring without a little challenge.

So I decided to make an online challenge.

Simple, if Afiqsays Facebook Page gets 1000 Likes, I will colour my hair with the most voted hair colour. But I have reservations though, I will only colour my hair with one of these colours.

Red

Purple

Pink

Green

Brown

Blue

I promise I will not chicken out from this. And to prove my commitment to this challenge, I will formally take an online oath.

TEO NIE CHING SEKSI DAN BUKA AURAT DI MASJID?

Why do some Malaysians hate Teo Nie Ching so much? What's the dilly yo? Her first outrage was when she spoke in a surau to give a sum of donation. She wore a baju kebaya.

The next day, drones of Malaysians criticized her for not respecting Islam by wearing aurat-revealing clothes. She also angered (apparently) a lot of people for giving a short speech before handing over the donations. In effect to that outrage, non-muslims are no longer allowed to enter a mosque. This is the most impulsive, idiotic and bigoted ruling ever! Since then, tourists and non-muslims are no longer allowed to appreciate the architecture and beauty of the practice of Islam.

A lot of people called me a liberal for not seeing anything wrong with Teo's actions so I browsed around the internet and read several blog posts regarding this issue, one of which is this one by Bahtera Merdeka.

Is it just me or are we getting more and more extreme in 'defending' and 'protecting' Islam without reading the fine prints first? Teo Nie Ching in my opinion is a model MP because she served her people without any distinction of race and religion. Very rare do you see this type of leaders, especially in a country that is subservient to race-based politics.

Now she is under fire again very wearing provocative and tight-fitting clothes while leading an aerobic session near a mosque. It was claimed that her outfit not only disrespects Islam but also demeans the very foundation of modesty. So naturally I imagined her in tight booty hugging leotard but when I saw the actual picture...

You call this sexy??? Where have you lived most of your life? Afghanistan? If this is sexy I don't think I know anything about what sexy is in this day and age.

This sexy outfit brewed a string of new controversies and insults and to that effect, our non-muslim friends are thinking "Hmmm.... so this is Islam."

In my opinion, Teo Nie Ching is a model MP for her involvements with the community regardless of their religions and race. I think people are mad at her not because of her lack of 'modesty' but because she challenged the status quo. How often do you see an MP who 'turun padang' and improve the lives of her constituents?

Naturally, other MPs, who are probably sitting in hotel lounge somewhere are all thinking "If this culture continues, I might actually have to do my job! Amagad!" and instead of commending and exemplifying her efforts, it made perfect sense to them to play the Islam card especially in a country where the people have localized and culture-infused interpretation of the faith.

Just remember folks, we are not the Taliban or the Al-Qaeda. We are peace loving Malaysian muslims. Don't let these politicians distort our understanding of Islam in order to serve their selfish agendas. Be reasonable, be peaceful, be tolerant or simply, just be a real Muslim.

MALAYSIA WON SUZUKI CUP 2010

Malaysia's recent win is a cause for celebration for all of us, especially when it is conveniently close to new year's eve.

Alang-alang cuti terus! Tetapi dengan nada serius, afiq rasa kita terlampau terbawa-bawa dengan kemenangan ini. Sepatutnya kemenangan pertama Suzuki Cup ini harus dijadikan motivasi untuk pemain negara untuk meningkatkan lagi usaha mereka tetapi dengan layanan anak emas daripada kerajaan kita, afiq takut mereka akan jadi besar kepala dan merasakan mereka terlampau hebat.

Remember, Malaysia is no 144 in the world standing. We are below war-torn Iraq, food-deprived Sierra Leon and earthquaked Haiti. We are even below countries we have never heard of like Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis and the not at all ridiculously named country Benin. 144 out of 203! Sedihkan? Terutama pada negara kita yang obses dengan bola sepak. Jadi kepada penyokong-penyokong tegar, tolong ingatkan pasukan kita yang Suzuki Cup tu macam pertandingan mewarna peringkat tadika sahaja, tak perlulah lebih-lebih. Ya, ia satu permulaan tapi ia hanya satu permulaan. Permulaan yang boleh diakhiri dengan pengakhiran jika mula-mula sudah dimulakan dengan pengakhiran yang memulakan.

In conjunction of Seksualiti Merdeka 2010, the organizers produced youtube videos of Malaysians coming out of the closet. It wasn't too well received by my facebook friends but when Nasrah Yang proclaim that "dia tak kena panah kilat lagi ke? macam siot je." something in me just broke loose. That started a string of discussions about this video.

NAMAWEE 1MALAYSIA STORY MY ASS-LAH

Perjalanan impian rapper kontroversi Namewee untuk membuat filem 1Malaysia semakin menjadi-jadi sehinggakan hampir kesemua media berbahasa cina mengikut segala proses filem 1Malaysia Namewee. Afiq juga subsribe youtube Namewee dan selalu tonton video-videonya. Tapi setiap kali afiq buka video '1Malaysia'nya, mesti ada komen-komen yang tak berapa 1Malaysia yang bertimbun-timbun. Contohnya semalam afiq buka channel Namewee dan terserempak dengan pelbagai komen-komen yang memaki agama Islam dan bangsa melayu seperti:

Afiq memang tak suka mengamuk bila orang kutuk agama atau bangsa afiq jadi afiq hanya memberi komen short and simple:

Afiq rasa ramai rakyat berbangsa cina yang menyangka Namewee gagal untuk mendapat dana filem 1Malaysia kerana dia berbangsa cina.

Kenapa proposal pertama Namewee gagal? Sebab skrip Namewee berbahasa Mandarin. Dana filem 1Malaysia memerlukan skrip yang berbahasa 60% melayu. Itu sahaja! Bukan kerana Namewee orang cina tapi kerana dia tidak baca garis panduan dana filem 1Malaysia betul-betul. Apa salahnya kalau skripnya berbahasa nasional Malaysia iaitu BM? Kalau Ang Lee boleh buat filem BrokeBack Mountain, John Woo pula buat Face Off dan Danny Boyle: Slumdog Millionaire, kenapa Namewee tak boleh buat filem berbahasa Melayu? Kenapa?

Afiq juga faham kenapa Namewee dan penyokong-penyokongnya sangat defensive apabila dicondemn tetapi hakikatnya Namewee pernah merosakkan lagu Negaraku dan juga menyamakan Azan masjid dengan bunyi ayam jantan yang bising. Kontroversi tersebut telah membuatkan Namewee youtuber yang paling popular di Malaysia. Adakah manusia yang sebegitu akan diberikan layanan anak emas apabila dia mahu membuat filem yang bertujuan untuk menyatukan rakyat Malaysia? Kalau afiq merogol seorang wanita dihadapan orang ramai dan semua perogol lain bersorak gembira kerana kelakuan afiq yang berani, patutkan afiq membuat kempen anti-rogol?

It is rampant, it is becoming acceptable. Gay Muslims are beginning to come out from their closets and declare their sexual orientation. They pray, they fast, they believe in the Oneness of God and yet they're gay.

Homosexuality is a topic surrounded by taboo-chastes in Muslim communities, including BolehLand. It is something parents avoid in conversations. Well, we don't expect much do we? They don't even teach us about sex! (no offence to parents)

In my early years of adolescence, I, like any other teenagers had our blood pumped on anything that involves sexual pleasures. We were curious. We were horny. We did what we do best: we study about sex through the internet and women magazines, dismantling interconnecting hints about sex and sex and sex. Even though I was in the same light as them, I was somewhat eager to indulge in something a tad bit different from boobs and cunts. It all started with the word Anal I discovered from CLEO that leads to anal penetration that eventually leads to gay sex. Gay sex? It is suffice to say that Anwar Ibrahim's case was very educational.

"No dating, no babies, no fuss, and a lot of working out" I thought. I explored everything there is to know about homosexuality until the day I forgot to clear the history of URLs I visited. Kantoi. After an ordeal that includes crying for hours for forgiveness and temporary quarantine in my room, I concluded then that gay sex must have been the most enigmatic and tentalizing thing in the world. I mean for it to be between two extreme mode of acceptance: FEAR and PRIDE, I locked all the memories of pop-up nude bear daddies and androgynous twinks, hoping to understand the topic much further as I get older. When I am able to comprehend the rights from the wrong. When I am able to justify myself through knowledge.

For the time being (then), it'll be a secret between me and God.

When I reached a ripe and legal age of 18, the gay-chaste was finally unleashed by a studiomate of mine. Hazman is a year older, well-built and irresistable. I woke the next morning and was WHOAAA... What a psycho biatch! Why in Ayah Pin's name did I sent him that message!

Then everything became clear. Everything. On why Islam forbids homosexuality.

First of all, Gay, Lesbians and Bisexual are Labels. I had a crush on a guy and now I'm deeply in love with a girl. Am I gay or bisexual? These labels are not orientations but are merely man-made popular culture.

It is very true, Gay sex is the most pleasurable sexual act. And like any other extremely pleasurable activities, it comes with a price. In terms of personal well being, homosexuals are prone of infecting HIV Aids and other STD to one another. It will also encourage segregations between communities caused by communal inferiority complex. Yalah, regroup and rejoice, blah blah blah, Gay United! etcetra etcetra. In a wider scale(national/regional) , the homosexuality practice do not produce offsprings, explaining the decline of birthrates in some developed countries.

Why am I attracted to some guys? Because some of them are androgynous. Islam had acknowledged that handsome young boys can be tempting. I read this from a religious book a few months ago.

"Do not sit beside noblemen's sons. Their faces are beautiful and they are even more tempting than that of young virgins."

And from the Quran:

"And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls." Al Tor 52:24

"They will be served by immortal boys..." Al Waqiah 56:17

But for those who are adamant that they were born gay even though they are pious in practicing Islam, I can simply advise you that your inclination is a test from God. If you fight it, you will be richly rewarded.
